WHICH IS HE? Cherokee Parks, the Marina High star whose freshman season at Duke last year was not up to expectations, will be starting this season as a sophomore. Sport Magazine’s new college basketball preview has this glum analysis: “Parks is slow and unproven.” But then, the same magazine listed him among the “Super Sophs” and said this: “Sorry, Cherokee, but your disappointing freshman season can’t fool us. . . . Look for Parks to gain confidence and be more like the player he was in high school.”
