Fire charred up to 30 acres of brush in Agoura Hills on Monday, but no one was hurt and no structures were damaged, Los Angeles County fire officials said.

The blaze broke out about 12:05 p.m., in an open area behind Agoura High School, said county Fire Department spokesman Clark Pearson. He said that more than 170 firefighters, including two helicopter crews, spent about 35 minutes containing the fire from the ground and from the air.

The fire was reported at 5564 Foothill Drive, and began spreading toward an area where there are houses and businesses, Pearson said. It was contained by 2:40 p.m.
