Today’s pairings (at the Racquet Centre, Studio City): SINGLES--Brahna Pastorini, Woodland Hills Taft, vs. Julia Feldman, Taft, championship; Amanda Cey, Woodland Hills El Camino Real, vs. Nancy Kwon, Pacific Palisades, third place. DOUBLES--Torri Ellman-Melissa Cherin, Palisades, vs. Krista Ramyead-Jill Whelan, Taft, championship; Lorelli Lew-Maggie Daniels, Chatsworth, vs. Tammy Tam-Lynn Ta, Eagle Rock, third place. Last year’s champions: SINGLES--Jennifer Momii, Gardena. DOUBLES--Stephanie Fontaine-Carrie Greenberg, Taft. Outlook: SINGLES--Pastorini and Feldman, the top two seeded players in the tournament, led Taft to the City team championship last month and are 20-0 each this season. Pastorini, a junior and the daughter of former NFL quarterback Dan Pastorini, defeated sixth-seeded Cey, the daughter of former Dodger third baseman Ron Cey, Monday, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3), in one semifinal. Feldman, a sophomore transfer from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, stopped fifth-seeded Kwon, 6-1, 5-7, 6-2, in the other semifinal. DOUBLES--Ellman advanced to the final of last year’s City doubles championship with Kwon, only to lose to Fontaine and Greenberg, 4-6, 7-6 (11-9), 7-5. She is back with Cherin to form the top-seeded team this year. Ellman and Cherin beat Lew and Daniels, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the final. Ramyead and Whelan, the second-seeded team, compiled an 18-2 record as Taft’s top doubles team. They beat Tam and Ta, 7-6 (7-5), 6-1, in the semifinals.
