In Division II:

Del Mar Torrey Pines 3, Sunny Hills 2--Torrey Pines rallied to win, 11-15, 15-12, 7-15, 15-10, 15-11, at Torrey Pines and will advance to the State title game at 4 p.m. Saturday at Cal State Fullerton, where it will meet meet Santa Cruz Harbor.

Rachel Hochgesang, who had 23 kills, almost single-handedly kept Sunny Hills (21-3) in the match. Eventually, Torrey Pines was able to neutralize Hochgesang and Sunny Hills, but not without a fight.

In the deciding game, Torrey Pines jumped to a 10-1 lead.

“They were serving well,” Hochgesang said. “And when you’re serving well, the other team can’t pass as well. And that’s what happened.”
