In the other semifinal at the Fullerton tournament:

Katella 47, Fullerton 40--Chris Carrillo scored 19 points for Katella (2-0). Kelsi Armbruster added 15 points and nine rebounds for the Knights.

In the consolation round of the Fullerton tournament:

Santiago 73, Whittier California 34--America Robledo had 22 points and 13 assists for Santiago (1-1). Yamala Olmedo added 20 points and 15 rebounds and Rachel Matemate 20 points and 13 rebounds.

In the consolation final of the Hacienda Heights Wilson tournament:

Whittier Christian 42, Whittier Pioneer 41--All-tournament selection Joanna Giforos had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Whittier Christian (2-1).

In nonleague girls’ basketball:

El Dorado 73, Chino Don Lugo 65--Guard Jody Carusco had 28 points and 13 rebounds for the visiting Hawks. Nicole Debruign had 20 points for El Dorado (2-0).

Pacifica 24, Laguna Hills 22--Pilar Surch scored 14 points, while teammate Vickie Peck had nine rebounds for Pacifica (1-1).

Eugene, Ore. 74, Marina 59--University of Washington recruit Elise Niemela scored 28 points to lead Eugene (1-1) past Marina, which got 18 points from Martina Emde. With the loss, Marina went 0-2 on its season-opening road trip to Oregon.
