PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP : Kennedy’s Bean Scores Six Goals to Beat Savanna

Ryan Bean scored a school-record six goals as Kennedy beat Savanna, 7-0, in a nonleague boys’ soccer match Friday at Kennedy.

Bean broke Robert Weber’s record of four goals in a single game, which he set last season against Bolsa Grande.

Bean scored four goals in the first half, then scored the record-breaker on a breakaway five minutes into the second half.

Weber also holds the school’s single-season record of 20, which he set last season. Bean has 10 goals this season for Kennedy (3-0-2).

In other nonleague matches:

El Dorado 2, Canyon 1--Luciano Cid scored a first-half goal and Kevin Haynes scored the game-winner for visiting El Dorado (3-0-1). Brent Nogle scored early in the second half to tie the score, 1-1, for host Canyon (1-1-1).

Bolsa Grande 4, Fullerton 3--Miguel Mendez scored three goals, including two in the second half, to lead host Bolsa Grande (1-2-1) from a 2-1 halftime deficit.

Western 1, Cypress 0--Jose Balti scored the games only goal. Sean Hurtz has eight saves for Western (5-0-1).

Troy 3, Valencia 0--Brain Logan had seven saves for Troy (3-1) to shut out Valencia (0-3-1).

Century 1, Los Amigos 1--Adalio Aguilar scored a first-half goal for host Century (2-1-1).

Pacifica 5, Bellflower 0--Matt Barclay had two assists as five different players scored for host Pacifica (2-2).
