Victim of Drive-By Shooting in Garden Grove Is Identified

GARDEN GROVE — Police on Monday identified a 15-year-old boy shot to death over the weekend as Tri (Elvis) Lu of Santa Ana.
Lu was riding on the back of a pickup truck about 10:30 p.m. Saturday when he was shot in the chest by someone driving alongside in another vehicle, police said.
The shooting occurred as both vehicles were heading east on Westminster Avenue near Lake Street. Lu died en route to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital and Medical Center, police said.
Two juveniles were booked on suspicion of murder at Orange County Juvenile Hall, police said. Their names were not released because of their ages.
Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related. At least two other suspects are being sought.
