1992: South Coast League champion; third in 4-A championship meet.

Outlook: El Toro’s only league loss was to Mission Viejo, but it won the conference championship at the league meet. Ross expects a three-way battle with Capistrano Valley and Mission Viejo. El Toro lost six seniors, the most in the coach’s tenure, but still should have adequate depth. “We still have our stars,” Ross said. “I just hope we can keep the depth.” Keep an eye on Simmons, whose brother, John, is the defending section 100-yard backstroke and 100 freestyle champion. Walters is a “drop dead sprinter,” and Perry is the defending section champion in the 100 freestyle.
