Behind eight doubles, Royal High defeated host Santa Paula, 12-2, Wednesday in a nonleague baseball game.

The Highlanders (4-2), who had 13 hits, scored six runs in the third inning and five in the sixth.

“There were a lot of doubles, and they were all over,” Royal Coach Dan Maye said. “One to left, one to right, one down the line, one up the gap. I don’t know if it’s a school record, but it’s the most since I’ve been here.”
