BASEBALL : South Gate Bats Busy in 23-Hit Win Over Jordan

Jesse Torres had a home run, two triples, a double and five runs batted in for South Gate in a 17-5 victory over Jordan in a Southeastern Conference game Thursday at Will Rogers Park.

Torres, who was four-for-five, and Carlos Molina each hit a home run in during an eight-run third inning. Thirteen players had at least one hit and nine others drove in at least one run for South Gate, which had 23 hits against pitchers Arturo Valera and Sergio Medano.

Valera and Ernesto Jimenez combined for six hits and five RBIs for Jordan.
