Share

Keith West scored two goals for the second match in a row to lead the Cal State Northridge men’s soccer team to a 5-3 nonconference victory over host Cal State Sacramento on Friday.

West, a junior transfer from Glendale College who did not score in the Matadors’ first four matches, gave CSUN (4-2) a 2-0 lead in the first half when he scored two goals in 30 seconds.

His first goal came from 15 yards at the 14-minute mark and his second came from 10 yards.

“We told him earlier in the week to not think about scoring goals,” Northridge Coach Marwan Ass’ad said. “We told him to just think about playing a team game and the goals would come. And they have.”
