Standout Buena running back George Keiaho suffered an injured right knee in the Bulldogs’ 38-24 Channel League victory over Oxnard on Saturday at Ventura High and could be out four to six weeks.

Playing fullback on the game’s opening play, Keiaho appeared to have been clipped by an Oxnard player. The senior suffered a second-degree tear in his medial collateral tendon, according to several doctors.

Keiaho has 1,724 yards rushing and 25 touchdowns this season. With 6,061 career yards, Keiaho is second on the all-time state rushing list.

The Bulldogs were also without starting quarterback Chris Carr and defensive end Bobby Sentinella. Both players were suspended for an alcohol-related offense at the school’s homecoming dance on Friday.

Senior Johnny Chang, Keiaho’s replacement, rushed 30 times for 217 yards and scored two of his four touchdowns in the third quarter to lead Buena (6-2, 5-0) back from a 24-15 halftime deficit.
