PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Krieg Will Start Sunday for Chiefs

Share

Marty Schottenheimer, coach of the Kansas City Chiefs, said Dave Krieg will start at quarterback Sunday when the Chiefs face the Raiders at the Coliseum.

Joe Montana is expected to remain sidelined because of a hamstring injury he originally suffered against the Raiders six weeks ago and later re-injured.

Schottenheimer wouldn’t even guess at a return date for Montana.

“It’s day to day, week to week, I guess,” Schottenheimer said. “The one thing that I can assure you is he’s not going to play again until we have a reasonable sense that he’s not going to re-injure this muscle.”

Napoleon McCallum, who rushed from scrimmage for the first time in two years last Sunday, has been moved ahead of Nick Bell on the Raiders’ depth chart.
