EMPIRE LEAGUE ROUNDUP : Balance Helps Los Alamitos Beat Katella

Ali Ton scored 24 points, Tim Lin hit six three-pointers and finished with 20, and Ryan Stanick added 20 points and 12 rebounds to lead Los Alamitos to a 77-59 victory over Katella Friday in an Empire League boys’ basketball game at Katella.

The Griffins improved to 17-3 and remained unbeaten in league play at 5-0. Katella is 11-7 and 2-3.

Nick Roditis scored 19 points, nine on three-pointers, for Katella.

In other league games:

Esperanza 53, Loara 38--Mike Thimgan scored 19 points, including three three-pointers, for Esperanza (13-7, 3-2). Josh Greer scored 11 of his 15 points in the second half for Aztecs, who were 12 for 15 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter.

Scott Davis scored 20 points for Loara (11-9, 1-4).

Cypress 66, El Dorado 55--Junior center Brett Boulton, playing in his third game after returning from an ankle injury, led Cypress with 20 points, 12 rebounds and two three-pointers. Derek Mitchell added 17 points and Chad Boberg 16 for Cypress (12-8, 3-2). Dustin Miller scored 17 for El Dorado (6-12, 1-4).
