GARDEN GROVE LEAGUE ROUNDUP : Doane Helps Lift La Quinta Past Kennedy
La Quinta beat Kennedy, 61-56, in a Garden Grove League boys’ game at La Quinta. Senior Kevin Doane drove inside, scored while being fouled and completed a three-point play to give La Quinta a 57-52 lead with four minutes remaining.
Greg Greenfield led La Quinta (9-9, 3-4) with 15 points, Doane added 13, and Todd Snyder had 10 assists for the Aztecs.
Rich Anderson had 21 points and Travis Dreessen had 15 rebounds for Kennedy (5-12, 3-4).
In other league games:
Garden Grove 70, Bolsa Grande 66--Tim Denk scored 36 points, as host Garden Grove (7-10, 2-5) upset second-place Bolsa Grande. Tuan Pahm scored 19 points for Bolsa Grande (9-8, 5-2).
Pacifica 61, Los Amigos 53--Chris Vlasic had 19 points and Ryan Teague added 14 for visiting Pacifica (14-1, 6-0).
Santiago 73, Rancho Alamitos 52--Pablo Martinez, who had four three-pointers, and Henry Johnson each scored 14 points for host Santiago (7-12, 2-5). Jeff Metcalf scored 20 points for Rancho Alamitos (4-11, 2-5).
