VALLEY ROUNDUP : Crescenta Valley’s Hagman Hits 13 Three-Point Shots

Sarah Hagman had another record-setting night in Crescenta Valley’s 87-22 victory Friday over Arcadia. She finished with 48 points--a school record--and made a Southern Section-record 13 three-point shots. Hagman broke the record of 11 she shared with Brea Olinda player Nicole Erickson. Hagman had 11 last week against Hoover.

The senior guard attempted 26 three-point shots. Hagman has made 97 threes to date and is shooting better than 40% from that range. Crescenta Valley improved to 15-4.

Other girls’ games--Trisha Palmquist scored a career-high 22 points to lead Village Christian over Maranatha, 78-30. . . . Tina Milburn’s layup with one minute remaining lifted Moorpark to a 35-33 Frontier League victory over Calabasas.

BOYS’ BASKETBALL

Paraclete 68, Desert 63--Reserve forward Steve Dombrowski had 28 points for the Spirits (7-9, 4-2) and tied a school record with six three-point baskets in a High Desert League game.

Other boys’ games--Damain Cantrell had 21 points and 16 rebounds to lead Santa Clara past Nordhoff, 61-35. In another Frontier League game, Moorpark beat Calabasas, 66-47. . . . In Golden League games, Littlerock beat Burroughs Ridgecrest, 46-42, and Palmdale defeated Highland, 63-57. . . . St. Monica defeated Bell-Jeff, 67-53 in a Camino Real League game. . . . In Channel League play, John-Ryan Kern led Ventura to a 69-48 victory over Hueneme with 18 points. . . . In Pacific League action, Glendale beat Hoover, 46-38. . . . In the Marmonte League, Agoura beat Camarillo, 49-33. . . . In Tri-Valley League action, St. Bonaventure defeated Carpinteria, 57-38. . . . Harvard-Westlake defeated Bishop Montgomery, 63-58, in a Mission League game.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Occidental 68, Cal Lutheran 57--The Regals (5-7, 1-2) made just 16% of their shots from the field in the second half, blew a six-point lead and lost to Occidental (4-11, 1-3) in a SCIAC game.

Point Loma 69, The Master’s 40--The Mustangs (3-9) could not recover from a 16-point deficit and lost to Point Loma (8-8).
