Decision on Bradshaw Postponed

Members of the Simi Valley Unified School District failed to reach a decision Tuesday night on Simi Valley High basketball Coach Dean Bradshaw’s punishment for pushing one of his players to the floor during a Jan. 14 game.

The board was expected to decide Bradshaw’s coaching fate based on the recommendation of Simi Valley principal Kathryn Scroggin.

“I can’t comment on it because it’s a personnel matter,” Scroggin said while the board held a closed session. “I really don’t know when the board is going to vote on it.”

District Superintendent Mary Beth Wolford said the board had more pressing issues Tuesday.

“We did not get to it and I’m not sure when we will,” she said.

Bradshaw, in his sixth season as Simi Valley coach, has been suspended from games and practices since the incident occurred.

He has been accused of grabbing and subsequently throwing Sam Rodriguez to the ground after Rodriguez was assessed a technical foul during a home game against Westlake.
