Pasadena Poly appears headed for its fourth consecutive Division 1-A title. The Panthers, under Coach Steve Freeburg, entered the week 18-2-1 and 9-0 in the Prep League.

Pasadena Poly is led by a trio of three-time All-Southern Section players: center-fullback Maricela Oceguera, the 1993 division player of the year; center-halfback Beth Freeburg and forward Blanca Fromm.
