Huntington Beach High will lose three coaches in boys’ and girls’ tennis and boys’ soccer, Athletic Director Dave Van Hoorebeke said Thursday.

Boys’ soccer Coach Randy Chambers is retiring from coaching but will continue teaching world history, boys’ tennis Coach Tom Harlow is retiring from teaching and girls’ tennis Coach Lynn Monroe is leaving her walk-on position, Van Hoorebeke said.

Applications are being accepted through May 6 for all three positions, which are for walk-on coaches. For more information, contact Van Hoorebeke at 536-2514, extension 270.

Todd Belitz of Edison High School has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Washington State, Stan Belitz, his father, said.

Belitz, who has been on the Charger varsity for four seasons, is 4-0 with a 2.90 earned-run average this season. Last season he was 6-1 and was named the co-player of the year in the Sunset League.

Belitz was an All-Southern Section Division II selection as a linebacker in football.

Kennedy catcher Joy Hannifan has signed a letter of intent with the University of New Mexico at Albuquerque to play softball next season.

Santa Ana Valley High School’s baseball field will be dedicated to Herschel Musick before the Falcons’ Century League game against Orange on May 10.

Musick was the school’s first baseball coach and returned in 1989 to coach the team. He has a career record of 301-264-2.
