Buena Park’s Carrie Garritson, who set the county record of 10:28.20 in the 3,200 meters as a sophomore, has signed a letter of intent to attend Alabama, said her father, Mike Garritson.

Garritson, The Times Orange County girls’ cross-country athlete of the year last season, ran her entire senior season without losing to an athlete from the county and won the State Division III title.

Chris Burgess, a freshman center who left Mater Dei last week, has enrolled at Woodbridge, Warrior basketball Coach John Halagan said. Burgess, 6-foot-8, played on the Monarch varsity team last season. He is playing baseball for the Warriors’ frosh-soph team.

Scott Hamilton was reinstated as the Servite boys’ basketball coach immediately after the 1993-94 basketball season concluded, Athletic Director Tom Vitello confirmed.

Hamilton was suspended by the school for an altercation with game officials after a game against Marina Jan 19.

Kevin Reynolds, who was the Friars’ acting coach and helped Servite reach the Southern Section Division III-AA finals, will not return as an assistant, Vitello said.

Los Alamitos’ Brian Haight, an offensive lineman, will play football at San Diego, Griffin Coach John Barnes said.

Haight, 6 feet 1 and 240 pounds, was a first-team All-Empire League selection last season. *

Pacifica guard Pilar Surch, who averaged 16 points and was a first-team All-Garden Grove League selection, has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Azusa Pacific.

Two members of the Irvine Novaquatics swim team have announced their college choices. El Toro High’s Jay Reaves has accepted an appointment to the Air Force Academy, where he plans to swim and play water polo. Carrie-Page Gammel of Mission Viejo High signed a letter of intent with Maryland.

The Southern Section Division I, II, III and IV baseball finals will move this year from Anaheim Stadium to Cal State Fullerton and Blair Field in Long Beach.

Beginning with the 1990 playoffs, the four title games had been contested on the same Saturday at Anaheim Stadium. This season, however, the Angels play host to the Milwaukee Brewers on June 4, making the stadium unavailable.

This year’s playoff schedule:

--Division I: 7 p.m. Friday, June 3, Blair Field.

--Division II: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, Blair Field.

--Division III: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4, Cal State Fullerton.

--Division IV: 4 p.m. Saturday, June 4, Cal State Fullerton.

--Division V: 2 p.m., Saturday, June 4, Blair Field.

--Division VI: 11 a.m., Saturday, June 4, Blair Field.
