PREP TENNIS ROUNDUP : Sunny Hills Wins Freeway League Singles, Doubles Titles
Kevin Kim of Sunny Hills won the singles title and teammates Juno Kuan and Hiren Bhavsar won the doubles title at the Freeway League boys’ tennis finals at Sunny Hills Racquet Club in Fullerton.
Kim beat teammate Joseph Gilbert, 6-0, 6-2, in the singles final. Gilbert won the 16-year-old division at Ojai last month.
Kuan and Bhavsar beat teammates Joey Springer and Sean Harris, 6-4, 6-1, in the doubles final.
In the Sea View League tournament:
Abrams advances--Geoff Abrams of Newport Harbor, Jonny Biorkman of Woodbridge, Jeff Thomsen of Newport Harbor and Kent Policky of Santa Margarita advanced to today’s quarterfinal round.
In the South Coast League tournament:
France advances--John France of El Toro beat Dana Hills’ Mike Baxi, 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the quarterfinals.
Brandon Fallon of Dana Hills, Brian Gruner of Mission Viejo and Brett Hankey of Mater Dei also advanced.
