In other Southern California softball playoffs:

College of the Canyons 4, Orange Coast 3--Chris Schlender hit a three-run home run in the second inning to lead College of the Canyons (23-15) over third-seeded Orange Coast (29-14). OCC must win four games today to qualify for the State tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

Moorpark 1, Rancho Santiago 0 (9)--The Dons failed to score despite 10 hits. They play Ventura College at 10 a.m. today in an elimination game.

In individual tennis State championships:

Saddleback’s Berg and Casas advance in doubles--Erik Berg and Billy Casas won two matches at La Costa Country Club in Carlsbad to advance to today’s semifinals, where they will face Nate Turner and John McCall of Foothill.
