Angie Fancuberta (16-12) gave up seven hits and was supported by a solid defensive effort. Whittier La Serna 1, Laguna Hills 0 (18)--With two outs in the bottom of the 18th, La Serna (16-7) got two hits and then a bouncer over the infield to score the winning run, ending Laguna Hills’ hopes of defending its division title. Alycia Stevens and Jennifer Arzola each had three hits for Laguna Hills (15-10). Windy Scofield (6-5) pitched all 17 2/3 innings for the Hawks.

Redondo Beach Redondo Union 1, Woodbridge 0 (17 innings)--Woodbridge freshman Stephanie Bernritter had a no-hitter through 12 1/3 innings, didn’t walk a batter and struck out 10 in 16 innings before leaving with arm stiffness.
