Sonora got a break in the first quarter when a 60-yard pass play was nullified by a penalty. The Cavaliers (0-2) did not realize that the illegal forward pass infraction included a loss of down and turned the ball over after a fourth-down running play.

Sam Escobar scored two plays later on 15-yard run.

On the Raiders’ next possession, Rodriguez completed a 30-yard pass to Escobar. Two plays later, Rodriguez scored on a one-yard run.

The Cavaliers only score came after a blocked punt by Tom Sokantrong, which gave Santiago the ball on the two. Christian Cortez scored on two-yard run on the next play.
