Locke Placed on Probation

Share

The Locke High School football program has been placed on a year’s probation for making contact with athletes outside the school attendance area, a violation of California Interscholastic Federation rules.

On Sept. 14, the City Section’s Interscholastic Athletic Committee placed Locke on probation, which serves to warn the school against possible other infractions that may lead to stiffer penalties, including barring the team from playoffs or suspending the program.

Another Los Angeles Unified School District school made allegations against Locke, said City Athletic Commissioner Barbara Fiege. The committee also placed Sylmar and Woodlands Hills Taft on probation for various rules infractions.
