SOUTHERN SECTION

SCORE: Westlake (10) 28, Thousand Oaks 7

SYNOPSIS: The Warriors (3-1) went to a seldom-used running game as Craig Walendy had 139 yards and two touchdowns in a Marmonte League win at Thousand Oaks (1-3).

SCORE: Anaheim (18) 13, Cypress 8

SYNOPSIS: Rueben Droughns ran 75 yards for the winning touchdown with seven minutes to play for the Colonists (4-0) in a nonleague game at Western High.

SCORE: Corona Centennial 38, Norte Vista 10

SYNOPSIS: Safety Brandon Miller led the Huskies (3-1) with two interception and 10tackles in a nonleague victory over the visiting Braves (2-2).

SCORE: Marina 49, Westminster 14

SYNOPSIS: Mike Williams rushed for 195 yards and four touchdowns in 11 carries as the Vikings (4-0) won a nonleague game at Westminster (2-2).

SCORE: Gahr 29, Cerritos 15

SYNOPSIS: Tarone Swan caught two touchdown passes for the Gladiators (3-1) in a nonleague victory over the Dons (1-3) at Gahr.

SCORE: Glendora 17, Charter Oak 12

SYNOPSIS: Michael Graham rushed for 174 yards and scored two touchdowns, but the Chargers (3-1) lost a nonleague game to the Tartans (3-1) at Citrus College.

SCORE: Fullerton Troy 40, Costa Mesa 38

SYNOPSIS: Ryl Relatores and Larry Montgomery combined for 346 yards rushing and six touchdowns for the Warriors (3-1) in a nonleague victory at Costa Mesa (3-1).

SCORE: Anaheim Western 31, Downey Warren 20

SYNOPSIS: Justin Starkey and Dean Chambers each had two touchdowns to lead the Pioneers (4-0) to a nonleague victory over the Bears (1-3) at Warren.

SCORE: Sonora 14, Irvine University 3

SYNOPSIS: Despite four turnovers, the Raiders (2-2) defeated the Trojans (1-3) in a nonleague game at Irvine High.

SCORE: Duarte 13, Monrovia 6

SYNOPSIS: Darryl McGhee ran for a 46-yard touchdown and Ronnie Brown scored on a four-yard run to lift the Falcons (1-2-1) over the Wildcats (2-2) at Monrovia.

SCORE: Montebello 14, El Rancho 0

SYNOPSIS: Fred Montiel scored on a one-yard run and Guillermo Calderon scored on a 15-yard run to lead the Oilers (3-1) to a nonleague win over the Dons (1-3) at Montebello.

CITY SECTION

SCORE: Sylmar (9) 29, Monroe 0

SYNOPSIS: Greg Marquez threw three first-half touchdowns and Sylmar (4-0) held visiting Monroe (1-3) to a pair of first downs in a Valley Pac-Eight Conference game.

SCORE: Dorsey 27, Washington 13

SYNOPSIS: Three Dorsey running backs combined for 214 yards to lead the well-balanced Dons (3-1) to a Southern Pacific Conference victory at Washington (2-2).

SCORE: Manual Arts 36, Los Angeles 0

SYNOPSIS: Los Angeles (1-3) was held to minus-30 yards in a Coastal Conference home game against Manual Arts (2-2). Fred Jackson led the defense with two interceptions.

SCORE: Bell 28, Jordan 0

SYNOPSIS: The Eagles (3-1) forced seven turnovers and effectively mixed the pass and run to extend Jordan’s winless streak to 30 games in Southeastern Conference action.

SCORE: Eagle Rock 11, Lincoln 8

SYNOPSIS: Joe Albarran’s 32-yard field goal in the second quarter put Eagle Rock (4-0) ahead to stay in a Northern Conference game at Lincoln (0-4).

SCORE: University 14, Palisades 10

SYNOPSIS: With less than two minutes to play, Eric Barnes intercepted a pass to seal a Coastal Conference victory for the Warriors (2-2) at Palisades.

SCORE: Granada Hills 7, Kennedy 6

SYNOPSIS: Brian MacLean threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Jason Ascencio in the fourth quarter to lift Granada Hills (2-2) to a Northwest Valley Conference win.

SCORE: Reseda 36, Canoga Park 6

SYNOPSIS: Defensive back Charles Shells returned an interception 25 yards and a punt 69 yards for touchdowns for the Regents (2-2) in a Valley Pac-Eight Conference game.

SCORE: Venice 28, Fairfax 20

SYNOPSIS: Mike Soto completed eight of nine passes for 173 yards and three touchdowns to lead the host Gondoliers (3-1) over the Lions (1-3) in a Coastal Conference victory.
