ROUNDUP : CLU’s Streak in Soccer Ends

Occidental’s Jocelyn Ferialdi scored her second goal with 15 minutes remaining to give the Tigers a 3-2 victory over Cal Lutheran in a Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Assn. women’s soccer match Wednesday at Thousand Oaks.

The loss is Cal Lutheran’s first in conference play in four seasons and 47 matches. The Regals had four shots in the final five minutes. Carla Crawford scored both goals for Cal Lutheran (13-5, 10-1 in conference play).

Michelle Winscott scored in the 14th minute to give Occidental (13-2-1, 8-2-1) a 1-0 lead.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

Agoura 15, Cate 3--No. 1 singles player Sherry Reese swept three sets, including a 6-3 victory over Cate’s ranked junior, Erica Altman. Junior Audry Boesflug, playing her first varsity match, won two of three sets at No. 3 singles in a nonleague match against the seventh-ranked team in Division IV.

At No. 1 doubles, Galit Hadari and Sabrina Lundquist (44-4 this season) swept for Agoura (13-4).

WATER POLO

Calabasas 28, Villanova Prep 4--The Coyotes eclipsed their best offensive output of the season by nine goals in a Frontier League game at Calabasas.

Senior Terry Marciano had nine goals to lead Calabasas (5-10, 3-4). David Garrett added four goals and Alex Hettena, Steve Hever and Matt Shapira scored three goals each for the Coyotes.

Loyola 15, Crespi 11--The Celts were outscored, 7-1, in the third quarter after Mike Scarcelli, Crespi’s leading scored was ejected in a Mission League match at Loyola.

Scarcelli and David Brea had three goals each for Crespi (13-10, 4-3). Brendan Beer, Peter Baldwin and Ethan Holmes each had four goals for Loyola.

Harvard-Westlake 21, Notre Dame 12--Albert Won scored seven goals as the Wolverines had a six-goal advantage by halftime of a Mission League game.

Doug Kazarian and David Stone had two goals each for Harvard (14-3, 7-0). Theo Smit led Notre Dame with four goals.

GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL

Nordhoff d. Santa Ynez, 13-15, 15-6, 15-5, 15-11--Jami Sawyer had 25 kills and Jodi Ferro 20 to help the Rangers (10-1) upset Santa Ynez in a nonleague match. Santa Ynez (9-2) was ranked second in Division IV, Nordhoff third. Julie Sandefur had 28 assists.

Poly d. North Hollywood, 15-13, 15-7, 15-9--Donna Farraj had 10 kills for the Parrots (7-4, 5-4) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match. Samantha Fargeon had 11 kills and three aces for North Hollywood (5-7, 3-6).

Van Nuys d. Reseda 15-6, 15-4, 15-4--Connie Cho had eight kills and Connie Chae added five kills and 15 assists for the Wolves (12-0, 10-0) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference match.
