Pacifica’s defense shut out Covina Northview in the second half and its offense scored 20 second-half points to give the Mariners a 34-14 victory in a nonleague game Thursday night at Bolsa Grande High.

At halftime, Northview’s Dalano Rhyne had 98 yards rushing in 17 carries and the score was tied, 14-14. But Rhyne was held to five yards in six carries in the second half.
