OUTLOOK

The Tartans should be a lock to repeat as champions in the Academy League after going unbeaten last season. The main reasons are St. Margaret’s returning starters. Raibon was a first-team All-Southern Section selection and the league’s most valuable player after averaging 22 points. He has already committed to the University of San Francisco. Masters and Baker are another pair of all-league seniors who averaged just over 10 points. Masters was the Tartans starting quarterback and is an excellent all-around athlete. Larson bypassed the junior varsity team and has proved to be a legitimate young talent. Ohara, in his first year after taking over for Rick Bauer who switched to Dana Hills, said he wants the Tartans to again challenge for the Division V-AA title and improve on their record from last season. The Tartan’s best assets are their experience, quickness and athletic ability. Their weaknesses lie in rebounding and defensive transition, Ohara said.
