Coach: Eddie Carrillo (seventh year).
1993-94: 9-12-2, 2-6-2 in Century League.
Key returners: Jerry Arguello, defender, Sr.; Victor Diaz, forward, So.; Steve Gonzalez, midfielder, So.; Victor Lopez, sweeper, Sr.; Lalo Rodriguez, midfielder, Sr.; Neil Van Zuiden, keeper, So.; Omar Velazquez, forward, Sr.; Aldo Zuniga, keeper, Jr.
Key newcomers: Danny Caliss, forward, Fr.; Samuel Galindez, defender, Jr.; Shawn O’Malley, defender, Jr.
Outlook: After suffering through a tough season, Carrillo’s team appears to be loaded. Nine starters and 14 lettermen, all of whom started at least one game, return, and a talented freshman, Caliss, could be one of the team’s best. The front line is young but talented. The back appears to be Orange’s strength. “Defense was our weakness last year,” Carrillo said. “We’re good up front, but we’re still trying to get in sync.” Goalkeeper is another strength. “We’ll probably play each of them a half until one of them shows he can’t do the job,” Carrillo said. Rodriguez has been an all-league player the past three seasons, and Gonzalez was a second-team pick last season.
