Alemany 75, Santa Clara 18--Kelly McKay scored 17 of her 25 points in the first quarter as the Indians (2-0) routed the Saints (1-2).

Teammate Carly Funicello scored 12 points, while Kelli Kobayashi added 11 for Alemany, ranked second in the state.

Buena 81, Chatsworth 33--Ashley Jackson came off the bench to score 13 points for the Bulldogs (1-0).

Stephanie Kinnear scored 12 points, while Eboni Conley and Nicole Greathouse each added 11 for Buena, ranked fifth in the state.

Hart 64, East Bakersfield 21--Jaime Broneer scored 14 points and LaCresha Clark added 13 points, seven assists and seven steals for Hart (2-0).

Jaclyn Kuptz scored 12 points for the Indians, who gave Coach Dave Munroe his 100th victory.

Esperanza 44, Thousand Oaks 36--The Lancers (1-1) were outscored, 20-7, in the fourth quarter of the Brea-Olinda tournament quarterfinal loss.

Thousand Oaks was led by Nicole Woodruff’s 10 points.

Westlake 40, Ontario 36--Westlake scored only two points in the first quarter but rallied to win a consolation semifinal of the Brea-Olinda tournament.

Katie Spayde scored 14 of her 18 points in the second half for Westlake (2-1).

Spayde hit a 15-foot baseline jump shot to give Westlake its first lead of the game at 36-34. Forward Megan Carmola added 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Taft 66, Venice 57--Sophomore forward Crystal Griffin keyed a big victory with 18 points, 10 rebounds and five steals and Vanessa Dunn had 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Taft improved to 5-1.

Venice (5-2) had lost only to powerful Crenshaw.

Kennedy 59, Westchester 50--Senior guard Gina Basile had five three-pointers in the first quarter as the host Golden Cougars built an early 15-point lead.

Tami Ross had 19 points and 14 rebounds for Kennedy (3-3).

Basile finished with 15 points.

Sherman Oaks CES 2, Belmont 0--Griselda Lopez and Jennifer Sonogyi each scored second-half goals for Sherman Oaks in the nonleague victory.

Alemany 4, Bishop Montgomery 2--Stacey Brenner had two goals and Michelle Aasen recorded 21 saves as visiting Alemany (1-2-2) picked up its first victory over the defending Division II champions.

It was the 200th career victory for Indian Coach Marcia Takahashi.
