Writers’ Spin Moves Are Not Appreciated

Share

Friday night (Dec. 2), I thought I saw one of the finest football games ever seen in Orange County as Mater Dei defeated Los Alamitos. However, after reading The Times’ coverage of the game, I learned it was an error-filled farce.

Of course, The Times never makes errors.

Re: Your recent article expressing concern about the Brea-Olinda girls’ basketball team running up the score.

The facts demonstrate that The Times prep sports reporters spin a story the way they want. In Brea Ball, when the team starts to get ahead, out come the starters and in comes a whole different team. If Brea wanted to, as the opposing coach stated, it could easily run up the score to 100-plus points virtually every game.

Perhaps Jeff Sink (the coach) should allow the Ladycats to truly run up the score one time to silence critics who obviously read the score but don’t bother to read the stats. What is the Orange County record for most points in a game, anyway?
