HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Alemany Gives Notre Dame the Slip

Notre Dame High stayed close to Alemany for three quarters Thursday night, but the Indians pulled away in the fourth quarter for a 45-33 victory in a Mission League girls’ basketball game.

Kelly Mckay scored 12 points and Carly Funicello and Samantha Rigley each added 11 for Alemany (12-3, 3-0 in league play).

Stacey Phillips had 14 points and 10 rebounds for Notre Dame (13-5, 4-1), which was within 31-25 early in the fourth quarter.

Newbury Park 64, Royal 38--Jann Thorpe scored 20 points and Amy Berman added 17 for Newbury Park in the Marmonte League game.

Berman hit four three-point shots for Newbury Park (18-1, 8-0) and Julie Wastell, who had 14 points, made three.

Amber Shores scored 10 points for Royal (4-13, 1-6).

Palmdale 67, Quartz Hill 60--Kristi Rose had 32 points and 19 rebounds for Palmdale in the Golden League game.

Rose scored 12 points in the fourth quarter and Edneisha Curry finished with 11 for the Falcons (14-3, 4-0).

Village Christian 80, Maranatha 25--Trisha Palmquist had 25 points, 16 rebounds, six steals and five assists for the Crusaders in an Alpha League game.

Lindy James added 26 points and eight assists for Village Christian (14-4, 3-0).

Channel Islands 45, Agoura 34--Judy Tuimoloau had 13 points, 12 rebounds and five assists for the Raiders in the Marmonte League game.

Alma Gutierrez added 10 points for Channel Islands (10-10, 4-4).

Louisville 63, Flintridge Sacred Heart 56--Freshman Kari Crawley made all six of her free throws in the final minute to seal a Mission League victory for the Royals. Crawley finished with 20 points and seven steals.

Junior Adriane Bilek played her first game after missing a month with a dislocated right knee and had six points and nine rebounds for Louisville (8-8, 2-2).

Chaminade 57, Harvard-Westlake 44--Sheila Shilati had 26 points, six assists and five steals for the Eagles in a Mission League game. Shawnte Mitchell added 11 rebounds for Chaminade (10-6, 2-1).

La Reina 52, Oak Park 45--Shane Anderson had 27 points, 14 rebounds and nine steals for the Regents (5-9, 2-1) in a Tri-Valley League game. Alisha Valavanis scored 18 points for Oak Park.

Fillmore 88, St. Bonaventure 48--Julie Arundell had 18 points and 11 rebounds, and Christie Rosenblad added 14 points, nine assists and seven steals for the Flashes (13-2, 2-1) in Tri-Valley League game.

Buena 62, Santa Barbara 31--Eboni Conley and Nicole Greathouse scored 14 points each for visiting Buena in the Channel League game.

Kara Newman added 12 for the Bulldogs (10-2, 6-0).

Monroe 65, Reseda 25--Anna Marquez scored 13 points as the Vikings (10-3, 4-0) won their fifth game in a row. Shirley Sotero-Higa added 11 points and six assists in the Valley Pac-8 Conference game.

Sherman Oaks CES 85, Mid-College 70--Sophomore Sal Raphael scored 17 of his 37 points in the third quarter for Sherman Oaks CES (4-14, 3-3) in a Magnet League game.
