Ben Richardson scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as Agoura defeated Royal, 76-67, in a Marmonte League game at Royal High Friday night to claim a share of the league title with Westlake.

Brian Laibow added 18 points for Agoura (14-9, 11-3).

Marcus Pena had 22 points for Royal (15-7, 9-5), which finished in a tie with Simi Valley for third place.

Monroe 51, Reseda 24--Reserve Jason Bolding had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Monroe (16-6, 7-3) in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Reseda.

Three starters did not play for Monroe because of disciplinary reasons.

Van Nuys 98, Sylmar 65--Ricardo Hernandez and Onaje Longmire each scored 19 points for the Wolves in a Valley Pac-8 Conference game at Sylmar.

Verdugo Hills 79, Hollywood 72--Maurice Potter had 32 points and 23 rebounds in a Northern Conference game at Hollywood.

Jerson Castillo added 19 points and 12 assists for the Dons (9-15, 6-8).

Providence 69, Oakwood 55--Jose Tano had 19 points, Brian Fay 16 and Pat Nazari 14 for Providence (15-7, 11-3), which finished in a three-way tie for the Liberty League title after beating the Gorillas at Oakwood. Mitchell Goodman scored 18 points for Oakwood (5-13, 4-10).

Channel Islands 69, Newbury Park 67--O.J. Thomas made six of seven free throws down the stretch and finished with 13 points for the Raiders (9-14, 2-12) in a Marmonte League game at Channel Islands.

Brent Bush and Alan Gilstrap each scored 20 points for Newbury Park (7-14, 1-13).

Granada Hills 74, San Fernando 53--Will Ruffin scored 18 points and had 18 rebounds for the Highlanders (11-12, 3-3) in a Northwest Valley Conference finale at Granada Hills.

Chatsworth 79, Taft 61--Eddie Miller had 21 points and 10 rebounds for host Chatsworth (19-4, 10-0) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.

Jerome Joseph and Tariq Hill each had 15 points for the Chancellors.

Shad Martin added 19 points for the Falcons, who outscored the Rebels (0-10 in league) 18-6 in the first quarter.
