Facts and Figures: Orange Lutheran’s Michelle Harrison batted .451 with 18 RBIs and had a 0.71 ERA as a junior. . . . Brethren Christian sophomore Brooke Hofstetter threw three no-hitters, and senior Michelle Rueter threw two, including a perfect game. . . . Calvary Chapel’s Jennifer Melone batted .414 and Keri Pryzgocki had a 0.74 ERA; both were freshman. . . . All these players were named to the all-league team, as were two other freshmen, Whittier Christian’s Joey Miller and Orange Lutheran’s Carolyn Schulz. . . . Capistrano Valley Christian moved into the Arrowhead League.

Highlights: Whittier Christian pitcher Deborah Goddu (0.33 ERA) was named the league’s most valuable player, but the Heralds lost in the second round of the playoffs to semifinalist Santa Monica Crossroads, 4-0. . . . Valley Christian allowed only one run en route to the Southern Section Division V title. . . . Calvary Chapel lost, 3-2, in the first round to a Murietta Valley team that won 19 games.
