THIS WEEKEND’S PREP TOURNAMENTS
Spring vacation baseball tournaments begin Saturday, with the Dole Big West, Pride of the Coast, Santa Ana Easter and West Anaheim Lions tournaments scheduled to start.
The Upper Deck Classic will begin Monday.
Three of Orange County’s top 10 teams will be featured in the Dole Big West Tournament. Marina is ranked fourth, La Quinta fifth and Irvine sixth. The championship game is set for 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Irvine’s Windrow Park.
Fountain Valley, the county’s top-ranked team, will play in the Upper Deck Classic. Also in the tournament are second-ranked El Dorado, No. 3 Mater Dei, Edison and Esperanza. The championship game will be played at 7 p.m. Thursday at Cal State Fullerton.
Sonora, ranked seventh, and Sunny Hills, ranked ninth, will play in the West Anaheim Lions tournament.
The Santa Ana Easter tournament’s championship game is 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rancho Santiago College, and the Pride of the Coast’s title game is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Corona del Mar High.
