CYPRESS — Jeff Pickler, a freshman second baseman at Cypress College, has made an oral commitment to attend Tennessee next fall, a Cypress spokesman said Sunday.
Pickler, an all-Century League pick last season at Foothill High, is hitting .393 and has driven in 34 runs for the Chargers. He set a school record this season with six hits in a 29-10 victory over Golden West.
Pickler, the son of Cypress Coach Scott Pickler, joins Cypress shortstop Augie Ojeda, who also has committed to Tennessee.
