SEASON AT A GLANCE: Ball pitched a no-hitter against Marmonte League favorite Newbury Park in her second high school start. She has shared the starting pitching job with junior Melanie Richardson since. At the start of the week, Ball was 6-1 with a 0.37 earned-run average.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: Ball beat Newbury Park again, winning, 1-0, Thursday in 11 innings. She then shut out Clovis, the third-ranked team in the state, on Saturday, 3-0, in eight innings. In addition, she contributed with the bat, driving in the go-ahead run. In 19 innings last week, she allowed no runs on seven hits with 16 strikeouts and three walks.
