Hurlbut Resigns as Dana Hills Girls’ Volleyball Coach

Mike Hurlbut has resigned as girls’ volleyball coach at Dana Hills High School.

Hurlbut, who teaches at a junior high school in Mission Viejo, will become the girls’ assistant coach at San Clemente. He is the boys’ coach at the school and led San Clemente to the Division I final this past season.

Dana Hills was 56-27 in Hurlbut’s four seasons. The Dolphins won two South Coast League titles and reached the Division I semifinals in 1993.

Debbie Fleming said she has resigned as girls’ swim coach at Los Alamitos.

Fleming has been the Griffins’ coach for 13 seasons and led them to three Southern Section Division II championships, from 1988 to 1990. Los Alamitos was Division II runner-up in 1987.

Fleming will remain at the school as a teacher and girls’ tennis coach.

Joey Fuschetti has resigned as boys’ volleyball coach at Corona del Mar, school officials said Monday.

Fuschetti, the Sea Kings’ coach the last four seasons, will concentrate on graduate studies. He will remain a teacher at the school.

Corona del Mar was 56-42 under Fuschetti. The Sea Kings were 13-3 last season.

Eric Boyles has resigned as women’s volleyball coach at Southern California College, the school announced.

Boyles was the Vanguards’ coach the last two seasons, compiling a 31-25 record. SCC won the Golden State Athletic Conference last season, its first title since 1981.

Chris Dillon has resigned as the girls’ soccer coach at Corona del Mar, Athletic Director Jerry Jelnick said.

Dillon, who has been the Sea Kings’ coach the past three seasons, quit to pursue business interests.
