A 19-year-old man was stabbed on Pierpont Boulevard in Ventura after an altercation outside a liquor store on Seaward Avenue, authorities said Wednesday.

According to police, two suspects approached the victim as he was entering the liquor store about 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. The two men, believed to be between the ages of 20 and 22, asked the victim where he was from and a fight ensued, police said.

“Some guys drove up in a car and yelled at some locals,” said a clerk at Surf Liquor who saw the scuffle. “They were chasing them all around with baseball bats.”
