OUTLOOK

The Tillers, trying to bounce back from recent hard times, turn over the controls to Miller, who guided Costa Mesa to a 19-13-2 record in three seasons. Costa Mesa reached the Southern Section Division VIII championship game in 1993 but lost in the first round last season. Tustin last reached the playoffs in 1991, when it played in its second consecutive championship game under Coach Marijon Ancich. Miller believes he has many offensive tools with which to work. “We have three or four kids who are very fast and some very big offensive lineman,” he said. “Physically, at least, we’ve got what it takes to have a good offense.” DeGrammont finished fourth in the 110 high hurdles at the State track and field championships last year and returns at running back.
