Los Amigos, blessed with excellent field position much of the game, rolled past Century, 36-6, in a nonleague football game Friday at Garden Grove High School.

In the first half, the Lobos started no worse than their 44 and began with the ball in Century territory six of seven times.

Century fumbled three times in the half and also dropped a snap on a punt.

The result was a 22-0 lead that could have been higher, but Los Amigos had a touchdown called back.

“We knew going into the game that our offense was going to take a little bit of time to get going,” Los Amigos Coach Roger Takahashi said. “I saw some things were our offense started to jell in the second half.”

Greg Fausto, who scored 29 touchdowns last season, started the season with two.

He scored on an eight-yard run to give Los Amigos a 29-0 lead with 3 minutes 43 seconds left in the third quarter.

On his final carry, he got loose for a 25-yard touchdown run with 3:08 left in the game. It was his longest run of the game as he finished with 93 yards in 18 carries.

Fausto got plenty of support from fullback Shaun Tagatauli, who had 70 yards in seven carries. He started the scoring with a 24-yard touchdown run 10:05 left in the first quarter.

Los Amigos also had touchdowns from wide receiver LaRue Carr, who scored on a four-yard reverse and quarterback Jacob Sanchez, who scored on a five-yard run.

Century’s offense struggled early but finally put together a quick drive in the fourth quarter. After two incomplete passes, Jose Caravez went around end for a 29-yard gain to the Los Amigos 36.
