CITY SECTION ROUNDUP : Birmingham’s Evans Helps Sink Canoga Park, 27-14

Birmingham High running back Emmanuel Evans was double trouble for Canoga Park on Friday night.
Evans rushed for 100 yards in eight carries, including a one-yard touchdown run, and also tossed a 57-yard touchdown pass play to Lavon Rockett on an option play to lead the Braves to a 27-14 victory at Canoga Park.
Robert Bowens added 57 yards in five carries and scored on a 43-yard run early in the third quarter to put the Braves up 20-14, a lead they never relinquished.
Defensive back David Belk intercepted a David Montoya pass and returned it 57 yards for a touchdown with 12 seconds remaining to squelch the Hunters’ final drive.
Rockett, who hauled in the touchdown pass from Evans in the second quarter, finished with four catches for 84 yards.
Canoga Park was lead by Raymar Adams, who rushed for 119 yards and scored on a five-yard run.
