Troy Takes Early Lead, but Can’t Hang On

FULLERTON — Calvin Zinck completed six of 12 passes for 99 yards and three touchdowns to lead Granada Hills Kennedy to a 32-16 victory over Troy on Thursday at Fullerton High.
Antwane Smith rushed for 154 yards in 20 carries, including a 51-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter, and wide receiver Aaron Lewis caught two touchdown passes, including a diving 27-yarder at the end of the first half, to give Kennedy (2-0) a 20-10 lead.
On Troy’s opening possession, the Warriors marched 52 yards in six plays, capped by a 41-yard touchdown pass from Steve Muther to Willy Piguee. After Troy (1-1) took a 10-7 lead on a 38-yard field goal by Mike Arick, Kennedy scored 19 consecutive points.
