HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ROUNDUP : Burbank Dropped to 0-3 by Crescenta Valley, 21-7
Kenneth Pritchett’s 45-yard touchdown run with just over seven minutes remaining secured a 21-7 nonleague victory Thursday night for Crescenta Valley High over Burbank at Glendale High.
Pritchett gained 163 yards in 25 carries and scored twice.
After Crescenta Valley spotted Burbank a 7-0 lead, quarterback Cody Blackburn completed his only pass--a 54-yard scoring play to Tim Jones. Pritchett’s two-point conversion run gave the Falcons (2-1) an 8-7 halftime lead.
Blackburn suffered a hyper-extended right knee in the second quarter and did not return.
With backup quarterback Sae Woon Jo taking over, Crescenta Valley did not throw a pass in the second half.
Burbank (0-3) played without Mike Lewis and Juni Williams, its top running backs, who are injured.
The Bulldogs’ only score came on a 64-yard run by Lance Williams, who had 112 yards in 12 carries.
Errol Bowen, a transfer from Manual Arts, carried the ball 21 times for 45 yards in his first game for Burbank.
