Notre Dame 41, Glendale 3--Receiver Troy Garner scored three touchdowns to pace visiting Notre Dame, which dominated Glendale.

Notre Dame improved to 3-0 behind a starting offensive unit that scored six touchdowns in seven possessions in the first 2 1/2 quarters. The Knights out-gained Glendale (1-2), 432-89.

Knight running back Alvin Arzu rushed for 131 yards in 10 carries, including touchdown runs of 11 and 59 yards.

With 5 minutes 47 seconds left in the third quarter, Notre Dame pulled its starting offense after Garner caught a 33-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Ryan Bowne.

Garner--who finished with four catches for 87 yards--scored in the first quarter on a 14-yard run after scooping up a fumble. Garner also caught a 32-yard touchdown pass.

Notre Dame’s second unit nearly ran out the clock in the fourth quarter on an 18-play drive that started with 1:35 left in the third quarter and covered 76 yards in 18 plays.

The march finally stalled at the Glendale 13 with 1:32 left in the game.
