Cantwell 36, Valencia 7--Donavan Calhoun rushed for 171 yards in 21 carries for the Vikings (0-4), but it wasn’t nearly enough in a nonleague game at Canyon High.
Anthony Zaragoza of Cantwell (3-1) rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns in 20 carries.
Zaragoza scored on a 15-yard run on the second play from scrimmage and added a 51-yard touchdown run with 5:51 remaining in the first quarter to give Cantwell a 13-7 lead.
Viking quarterback Kenny Taylor scored on a one-yard run to tie the score at 7-7 with 7:34 left in the first quarter. Calhoun set up the score with a 36-yard run.
William Galbraith completed five of nine for 71 yards and rushed for two touchdowns for the Cardinals, including an eight-yard bootleg with 10:55 remaining.
Taylor completed six of 13 for 51 yards and threw two interceptions.
