Cross-country runner Mikyas Gedebou led Palisades to a one-point victory over Redondo in their first Ocean League meet, finishing second overall among the varsity boys. The senior also finished 12th in the Dana Hills Invitational, helping Palisades to a third-place finish in a field of 20. . . . Senior Daniel Martinez completed eight of 13 passes for 125 yards and one touchdown in Hollywood’s 13-12 loss to Belmont. . . . The Crossroads girls’ tennis team continues to get strong performances from top singles player Alana Klein, who is 11-2, and the undefeated (16-0) doubles team of sophomore Julie Bunim and senior Liv Scheinbaum. . . . Brentwood’s eight-man football team is 4-0, thanks largely to Scott Fagan, who had 193 yards and three touchdowns in 24 carries in the Eagles’ most recent victory, a 49-29 defeat of Chadwick.
