The City Section implemented a new rule this fall requiring all athletes ejected during a game to sit out the next game. Commissioner Barbara Fiege said the biggest impact has been in football, with 10 players affected. . . . Locke Athletic Director Dick Fukuta had to call off a freshman-sophomore boys’ basketball game and a girls’ volleyball match last week after a suspected bank robber barricaded himself inside a classroom on Wednesday afternoon. . . . Belmont running back Fabian Villa has scored seven touchdowns in the past two weeks in victories over Marshall and Lincoln. . . . Senior Fred Lee of Locke figures to battle Durell Price of Sylmar for the city rushing title. Lee gained 218 yards in Friday’s 22-21 victory over Garfield and has more than 1,000 yards this season. . . . The Roosevelt girls’ volleyball team is undefeated in Southeastern Conference play and has lost only once all season. Coach Kenji Maki said his team, which advanced to the Division 4-A semifinals last year, has been helped by outside hitter Lisa Valenzuela, a 5-foot-10 transfer from Bell Gardens. . . . With Coach D’Andre Ferguson sitting out for disciplinary reasons, the Hollywood (2-4) football team defeated Marshall, 29-7, Friday. Ferguson was given a one-game suspension by school administrators for being thrown out of the Lincoln game a week earlier.
