COLLEGE FOOTBALL / DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Edwards and Jordan Expected to Sit Out
Both linebacker Donnie Edwards and receiver Kevin Jordan are expected to sit out Saturday’s game against California at the Rose Bowl.
Coach Terry Donahue has advised Edwards not to play because of lingering problems with the upper back injury he suffered Sept. 16 against Oregon.
Two UCLA doctors and an outside consultant have cleared Edwards to play, but a full week of practice has left him sore.
“He’s not mentally sure of himself right now because the pain hasn’t completely gone,” Donahue said.
Jordan, the team’s leading receiver with 37 catches, hasn’t practiced this week because of soreness in his right knee. His injury is not considered serious.

Defensive end Phillip Ward, who has been sidelined because of a knee injury for four weeks, is expected to play Saturday.
